Have you seen these pretty tulips around?

You know I absolutely love white tulips, but these ones are just so delicate and ... perfect.

Their petals are lace-like, is just like someone took  some scissors and made hundreds of fringes.

Easy DIY- Nail-polish Stand/ Organizer

Hello again,

Today I would show you a super fast and easy project. Basically you only need a box, some scissors and some wrapping paper .
Find the middle of your box. I used an old shoebox. From the middle, cut it like in the image below.

Then, just turn the box over and you will have to separate organizing spaces. Just use the box lid to cut some scraps and tape them so that you can raise the ends, to close both of the sides.

Decorate it however you fancy. I used self- adhesive paper becuase I am lazy.

Ta-da! Not the most difficult project, not very "out-of-the-box", but it is very usefull. I will put my nail polishes on one side and my manicure tools and nail treatments on the other sides.

Easy Dried Flowers Table Centerpiece

Hello, lovelies!

This weekend all my spring flowers died so I thought I should try something with some pout-pourri and some dried flower that I had in a different arrangement.

This pout-pourri is rose scented and has a lovely, vibrant colour.

A while ago I saved a small cute beer bottle ( not very classy, ha?) and paired it with a plate in the same colour.

The beer bottle is holding a thistle flower that I received in a big flower arrangement.

I think it looks really pretty and it's also scented. The colours fitted perfectly.

The Colour Wheel in Decorating

I've been into colour theory lately and I've started studying as much as I can the colour families and how they are used. I will try to write some posts in the near future experimenting in room design and decor with the different ways to use the colour wheel.

In the colour wheel we have the 3 primary colours: RED, YELLOW and BLUE.
The secondary colours are the ones formed by combining to primary colours: ORANGE, VIOLET, GREEN.
Finally, the tertiary colours are formed by combining  a primary colour  with a secondary one.

With the colour wheel in your mind you can understand what works well and how you can combine them in a room.

We will experiment with all the combinations in the next posts.

Home Fragrance- Rose Water Scented Clay Heart

On the 8th of March I received a nice gift that I thought it was just a pretty heart. I had no idea these existed. Apparently they can be found anywhere, I saw them on Ebay. They are scented clays in different shapes and some of them can be hanged.

I'm assuming you can hang them in a dresser, but was so pretty and it fit my bedroom so well, that I hung it on the door key.

I don't know if this one was already scented, but it came with a little spray. You just spray it on the heart and, I must say, it holds the fragrance well, I believe it is the pores in the clay or something.

As far as the scent goes, I love mine, is Rose Water. Is like an old smell, in the best way. Let's say it is a classic. Is is a strong rose scent and it goes well with the roses carved on the heart.

The details are actually really pretty and feminine, very old-school yet again. I think when I will finish the spray I will try to use a different fragrance. I am pretty sure is better to use a clear (no colour) and oil-free perfume to prevent stains.

ID Pieces of Life (2)

I have been having some trouble sleeping lately, so I purchased the Boots Calming Aromatherapy set hoping it will help me.

Aside from water lilies, white tulips are my favourite flowers. They are just so simple and elegant, having them around the house makes me happy.

These days I wore these a lot, they are really thick (for some reason my feet and legs are always cold) an I love the print. Can anybody explain to me why moustaches are a big thing now? They are really fun to wear around the house- COZZZY!

My fitness plan for this summer is to get rid of my arm fat, actually the skin hanging from the arm. You know, the one that makes you look like you're about to take off and fly when you wave. The fact that these are bright pink make the morning sets easier.

Flowers again. I was a lucky girl these days. <3.

DESIRED! Childhood Games Reinvented in Decor

It seems that in all the aspects of our lives we have the desire to go back to our roots, to reinvent the classics. Vintage is in, we incorporate nature more and more in our lives and homes, we take more care of the old stuff that in the past. With all the stress in our everyday super-tech existence it's pretty natural.

If we feel the need to say stop sometimes and cherish the simple things I think it's our duty to teach our kids the same.

When it comes to kids' rooms I go crazy for themes like "young explorer", "sports superstar", "nature lover", "enchanted forest" and so on, but I've never been a fan of going superhero/Disney princess all the way, from the carpet to the bedding, lampshade and curtains.  I believe we should give them all the chances to discover something else.

Or, at least, I hope you will rediscover your childhood activities below:

TIC-TAC-TOE

It just seems a lot more fun on a wall.

HIDE AND SEEK

I had to spoil it by adding books in this story. :))

JUMPING ROPE

Probably my favourite activity as a kid. What am I saying, I still use it, it's a great cardio. But seriously now, this painting is just beautiful.

THE SPINNING TOP

Don't know where time went, but these became collectibles. They are nice, easy to incorporate decorating items. Simple, but still playfull.

THE HOPSCOTCH

Probably the most versatile idea in this post, especially for floors. I do adore this choice more than the usual ones you find that are ultra- colourful.

TAG

You're it! Oh, you saw that one coming! Anyway, pretty cool for your favourite active little boy.

I will stop now. Thank you for clicking and reading, hope you found something you would desire.

IKEA TINDRA Glass Candles Review

Since we moved into the new house I became obsessed of getting rid of the old smells and making it ours. Besides the electric air fresheners, the candles, especially during autumn and winter, relax me and enhance the confort of the home.

A budget-friendly option are the IKEA candles.

1. They are affordable and it turns out they do the job. Last time I bought a set of 3 smaller ones on sale at 12 RON, less than 3 euros.

2. They burn pretty even. You can see in the picture below, the berry-flavoured one is almost over and it burned perfectly.  That;s usually the biggest no-no with cheap candles.
I did notice that the smaller ones tend to burn uneven, but I think it's enough to make sure the wick is straight when you start to burn them.

3. Fragrance. As far as the scents go, being IKEA it is obvious there is a wide range to choose from. There is only a picture on the lids so I'll try my best to guess the actual fragrance,
My favourites: The Berries one- it is a full scent, if it makes any sense. It fills a small room very quick and it works in every season. It is not overwhelming in warmer days.
Vanilla- Classic scent, everybody loves it. I used to burn it in the bedroom when it was colder, it really made everything cozy. The fragrance is not that strong and that is why sometimes you get a candle smell more than vanilla and I wouldn't choose it for summer.

Tindra Ljuv Green: This has some kind of leaf on the lid, so it's supposed to be a fresh, garden-like smell. I adore it, it's perfect for this spring. It's fresh, but not extremely energizing like citrus or something. I think I like it mainly because it is a clean smell.
The bigger ones had individual lids and the scent was better preserved. The 3-pack ones had one sort of a lid for all of them and the fragrance was not that strong, but considering the price, I'll say it's ok.

What's your opinion, do you like your IKEA candles?

ID Small IKEA Haul

This weekend we went on our almost weekly visit to IKEA. We went with some friends so that they would buy some stuff and we promised ourselves we will not buy anything.

But, there you go, some small knickknacks:
I bought a poster frame for some poster I bought recently for my vanity.
A photo frame, white, simple, you can always use it.
A set of scented candles that was on sale. Already burned them, could not wait.
Small double candle holder, so cheap I had to grab it.
Finally, a set of kitchen utensils, also on sale. Already used them, pretty good quality.
I also bought a toilet brush, but I couldn't think of a reason why you should see that.

TREND ALERT! Around the world

So apparently maps are everywhere now. I think it is super easy to get caught in this trend because most people love to travel and wish they would travel more. Having map inspired decor around makes me think about travellig and new adventures.

Also, I love this trend because it is an invitation to DIY. I mean, just get a map that you love, frame it, and you have a personal wall art.

As an idea, you can get a map of the place you and your partner met, frame it, write something romantic and then give it to her/him as a gift.

Accents are easy to incorporate in a room.

I find that maps wallpaper or big maps wall art is best suited in home offices, but I have to admit that using it in a boy's room is super-adorable. Once you have this wallpaper on, you can go all-out in a kid's room, can't you? I mean lamps, boats, globes, pillows, related books on display, compasses...all for the little explorer!

French- Style Kitchen

You probably saw it everywhere by now. It is a big trend and I am actually pretty happy about that. French country style in decorating is not very polished and pretentious, but it catches your eye for sure.

I am thinking about earthy tones, stone, wood, iron, mix and matching natural fibers. When you want to pick some french-themed accents just think about whatever they are best known for: chocolat, Paris, wine, champagne, lavender, Provence, etc.

I love the style for kitchens because is very family-like, is warm and I think that the trend got so big because people get back to their roots and start using the kitchen more. If I see a french style kitchen I know that kitchen is used, is not that super polished, posh, modern kitchen, it makes me think about family, home cooking, wine drinking and flower picking. :) See what I did there?

After you have the basics, don't forget to keep around fresh flowers all the time. You can arrange them, but not too much, in vases, jars or pitchers.

It does have that je ne sais quoi, non?

THE BASICS: Stove,  KitchenFridge, Kitchen table

THE ACCENTS: Dinner Set, Clock, Chair pad, Chest of drawers, Faucet

EASY DIY- EARRINGS HOLDER

I have been trying to find all my stuff a place of their own since we moved. I am not very satisfied with how the bathrooms look at this point and i don't have much space for, let's say, my make up there. At the moment I am planning on arranging my accesories and my make up on a dresser, so I need to make them as accesible and visible as I can. The important or let's say more pricey items are in boxes, but I like to keep everything on display otherwise if I don't see them, I forget about them and wear the same thing for weeks.

I find that jewelry displays/ holders are quite expensive so I always start by trying to make something with what I ahev on hand.

That is what is so nice about this project: You will just need a small box, scissors and some stockings/ tights.

Choose a box that has wider edges , because it will sit on one edge, so it need stability. Then you just have to insert the box into the stockings and tie the sides in the back of the box.

Hide those sections  and you are done.

As you can see, my box was white so in the back you can see the light colour through the tights, but nobody is gonna see the back. Anyway, you can avoid this with a dark box or larger tights.

For costing next to nothing I think it's really practical. I hope you try it!
