This weekend we went on our almost weekly visit to IKEA. We went with some friends so that they would buy some stuff and we promised ourselves we will not buy anything.
But, there you go, some small knickknacks:
I bought a poster frame for some poster I bought recently for my vanity.
A photo frame, white, simple, you can always use it.
A set of scented candles that was on sale. Already burned them, could not wait.
Small double candle holder, so cheap I had to grab it.
Finally, a set of kitchen utensils, also on sale. Already used them, pretty good quality.
I also bought a toilet brush, but I couldn't think of a reason why you should see that.

TREND ALERT! Around the world
So apparently maps are everywhere now. I think it is super easy to get caught in this trend because most people love to travel and wish they would travel more. Having map inspired decor around makes me think about travellig and new adventures.
Also, I love this trend because it is an invitation to DIY. I mean, just get a map that you love, frame it, and you have a personal wall art.
As an idea, you can get a map of the place you and your partner met, frame it, write something romantic and then give it to her/him as a gift.
Accents are easy to incorporate in a room.
I find that maps wallpaper or big maps wall art is best suited in home offices, but I have to admit that using it in a boy's room is super-adorable. Once you have this wallpaper on, you can go all-out in a kid's room, can't you? I mean lamps, boats, globes, pillows, related books on display, compasses...all for the little explorer!
Stay inspired and go somewhere nice!

French- Style Kitchen
You probably saw it everywhere by now.
It is a big trend and I am actually pretty happy about that. French
country style in decorating is not very polished and pretentious, but
it catches your eye for sure.
I am thinking about earthy tones,
stone, wood, iron, mix and matching natural fibers. When you want to
pick some french-themed accents just think about whatever they are
best known for: chocolat, Paris, wine, champagne, lavender, Provence,
etc.
I love the style for kitchens because
is very family-like, is warm and I think that the trend got so big
because people get back to their roots and start using the kitchen
more. If I see a french style kitchen I know that kitchen is used, is
not that super polished, posh, modern kitchen, it makes me think
about family, home cooking, wine drinking and flower picking. :) See
what I did there?
After you have the basics, don't forget
to keep around fresh flowers all the time. You can arrange them, but
not too much, in vases, jars or pitchers.
It does have that je ne sais quoi, non?

THE ACCENTS: Dinner Set, Clock, Chair pad, Chest of drawers, Faucet |

EASY DIY- EARRINGS HOLDER
I have been trying to find all my stuff a place of their own since we moved. I am not very satisfied with how the bathrooms look at this point and i don't have much space for, let's say, my make up there. At the moment I am planning on arranging my accesories and my make up on a dresser, so I need to make them as accesible and visible as I can. The important or let's say more pricey items are in boxes, but I like to keep everything on display otherwise if I don't see them, I forget about them and wear the same thing for weeks.
I find that jewelry displays/ holders are quite expensive so I always start by trying to make something with what I ahev on hand.
That is what is so nice about this project: You will just need a small box, scissors and some stockings/ tights.
Choose a box that has wider edges , because it will sit on one edge, so it need stability. Then you just have to insert the box into the stockings and tie the sides in the back of the box.
Hide those sections and you are done.
As you can see, my box was white so in the back you can see the light colour through the tights, but nobody is gonna see the back. Anyway, you can avoid this with a dark box or larger tights.
For costing next to nothing I think it's really practical. I hope you try it!
